PVA North 14s played at Aspiring Champion's Frosty 14 Club event on 1/30. They finished second in the event after a close championship match that went three sets against Sparks. The picture with this post is of the North 14s and their silver medals. Way to go North 14s!

PVA North 16-2 played in the CAVA 16s mixed in Reading on 1/30. Although they were unable to make the play-offs, they gave the tournament winning open team, Norlanco, a real run for their money. The team continues to develop and is looking forward to more competition in DC.

PVA 13s "played up" in the CAVA 14s event on Jan 31st in Easton, PA. They had a strong day, despite missing one of their setters, and finished 3rd overall. Way to go 13s!

Feb 6 & 7 -- Tournament Report

Mother nature had grand designs to derail 8 PVA teams from competing this past weekend....but she was foiled (by some!).

PVA 14s & North 15s were scheduled to play at Aspiring Champions on Saturday, but the near-blizzard conditions forced a cancellation of the event.

PVA North 16s dug themselves out of the snow on Saturday so they were ready to compete in the Mule 16 Open in Allentown on Sunday. They had a tough day, but had some learning experiences and will be better prepared for DC.

PVA sent 5 teams to compete in the first of 4 of the MAPL (Mid-Atlantic Power League) events this season - the first event was held this past weekend in Raleigh, NC. Despite mass (and premature) cancellation of flights last Friday by airlines, the teams spent Thursday night successfully re-arranging travel plans...and all 5 teams made it!

The PVA 18s had a fantastic weekend (6-1) to finish 2nd overall in the event. They had their first loss of the season in the finals to a powerful Triangle 18 Black team. Check out the PVA18s in part of PrepVolleyball.com's Saturday MAPL Report!

The PVA 17s and North 17s went head-to-head at the end of Saturday, with the 17s coming out on top.

The PVA 17s, undermanned but not outgunned, went 5-1 for the weekend with the help of tough serves and in-system passing. Their last match became a forfeit as alterred travel plans due to the snow had families leaving town.

The PVA 16s worked hard on defense and kept teams out of system with tough serves. They stepped up and held their own against competitive 17s & 18s teams, including a 3 set game against NC Elite 17s in their backets' quarterfinals.

The PVA 15s showed continued improvement and promise as they competed over the weekend, finishing in the copper bracket of the 16-14s division.
